Good Company

Image
This is a Turkish proverb. Often many of us feel journey to be tiresome, boring. But with good people, the journey called life shall be more colorful and less boring. Some can find good company easily, for others they need to find hard.  In either case, reciprocation of attention, giving time for each other, caring for each other, judging less and understanding more, makes relationship strong. With the right people, even big tasks feel easy due to their supportive and positive nature. In bad company, the experience is the opposite. Good company boosts our confidence, provides support, offers new perspectives, and builds resilience, reminding us of we’re not alone in tough times. Good company doesn’t have to be a specific person from our family, friends, colleagues, or even the same age or gender. It can also be oneself.  Fortunate is those who understand the value of good company and work on being good company to themselves, instead of seeking it from others.

Hello Friends. In this VUCA World (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity), for various reasons, most of the time we lose the balance in our time management, for this no one to blame. It is often more like we wish to have balance in our time management, but we do nothing about it to change.  But with little introspection, there is always a chance for us to know the pace at which we are drifting away from that balance.  Time is the most wonderful concept human have realized until now, it is going to be an oversimplifying statement: “time is free”, but to spend that in a wise manner to get the best out of us and others, it’s not so easy. The bad thing is time flies, but the good thing in it is we are the ones who decide how, where and when it shall be spent, never its late to realize the importance of time.  What’s fun, if we don’t make memories (good, bad, happy, sad) out of our time here.    The quote here is not just a reminder to be kind to ...

Ikigai

Image
Wish to reintroduce a well-known Japanese concept of life called IKIGAI, roughly translates to "Reason for being" or "Have a sense of purpose of life". In Indian philosophy too we have similar thoughts like Dharma (living with principles), Sadhana (practice), Seva (helping others), Ananda(enlightenment), Swadharma (being true to oneself). Though we know that we are here for a purpose and a reason, a sense of clarity on how to achieve it is blurry and incomplete in some way for many of us.    Here are few key take aways of Ikigai principle: Try to stay active(even after you retire), Take It Slow (embrace the pace of life), Don’t Fill Your Stomach(may be 80%), Surround Yourself with Good Friends(emotional balance), Get in Shape for Your Next Birthday(refer and compare with yourself, not others), Smile(often than not), Reconnect with Nature(rejuvenates your mind), Give Thanks(sense of gratitude), Live in the Moment(not the past, not the future).   If we try to fo...

Friendship

Image
Everyone needs a friend who is connected via soul, no matter how far we are, how frequently we meet, always carries good interest/intentions for us. In everyone’s life we meet many people, but all can’t be friends, most of them are just acquaintances for a period or for a need sometimes. Hardly a minute call is enough for a true friend to feel your mood, how was your day. This true connection never occurs in a day or a single moment, it develops overtime and becomes stronger enough that both can feel with their heart and soul. No questions asked, no judgments, no complaints, just pure trust is exhibited. Such true friend is hard to find, once such friend is found, go to any extent to support them, they do the same for you. Through thick and thin is not just a promise made during marriage, it’s true and unsaid in a genuine friendship as well! Hope everyone will find such a sweet person.

The Three Cs of Life

Image
These 3 Cs of life listed above is the right sequence in timeline for anything that we wish to do, or we care about. In any matter that we are aware of, everyone has a choice to do or not to do. But when the chance comes, will we choose the right choice and perform the needed change to bring out the best outcome possible, matters the most! We are by nature wired to resist the change, but the truth of life is that “change is the only constant”.  Imagine we are in middle of a flowing river, will we be able to touch the same water again as time lapse by, not possible right! Just like that as time progresses, we can’t choose the same choice again and again and expect a better change in the outcome.  We need to train our mind to remember the past choices we made, the past chances we took, or we missed and their outcomes, then do a conscious choice selection of action or inaction next time when the right chance comes for us. This better change we wish for is just possible onl...

Make a mind that never minds

Image
Heart, brain, mind these are all interchangeable words in a bigger sense! All of us form some patterns in our mind over period about how we react to various situations, it’s not easy for us to break those patterns, alternatively we can call that as a mindset.      Our mind is like a garden, if we work on it regularly, it shall be beautiful, vibrant and radiant. If not it will be just like any barren land. For us to have a growth mindset, we need to sow seeds called good thoughts, and care them with water called positive affirmations, then our mind garden will flourish and spread its inner beauty to others. Also we need to pluck out inevitable weed called bad thoughts, negative thinking if not they will grow bigger than the needed good thoughts and corrupt our mind.     Judging, criticism is easier than understanding, so mostly everyone judge or criticize, but whether those judgements, criticisms affect us badly or not is totally up on us and our mindset. ...

The Three Circles of Life

Image
Here is a wonderful concept I came across. I would like you all too know this. In principle we have 3 circles in our life, which deals with most of the things we wish or see or feel or find or accomplish, also shows what is the simplest way to have happiness or peace in life. Everyone all the time, wishes the world would go the way they want it to be. Most of our problems arise because we don’t know into which circle each topic belongs to, we misplace, we mix up and we don’t know where to stop our efforts, our synergies, our feelings, our worries, our emotions etc. The Circle of Control: Also, can be remembered as the ‘I’ circle. It’s a circle which is in your full control and deals only with yourself. To List what belongs into this circle is too exhaustive. It is different for different people. Try to place here the situations/things/actions/feelings etc. which you fully own and can be improved by you. Work on them one at a time, even if you are not doing it currently! E.g., Food, ...
